Ethno is an international week long folk music camp, that has been organized in Sweden, Dalarna every summer since 1989. Probably the largest folk camp in the world. Ethno har grown to include 10 countries worldwide. Ethno Finland will be organized for the second time from the 4rd  to the 10th July 2016. It takes place in Päivölän virkistyskoti in Nummela, Vihti.

Päivölä is an idyllic location situated by the lake, great sauna will be warm every evening!

Ethno Finland is for advanced young folk musicians aged 17-30 years with around. Half of the participants comes from abroad.

Ethno is based on a series of workshops where young participants themselves teach each other the music of their cultures. The idea is to give young musicians a time to develop musically, create new contacts and network over borders: creating understanding and respect towards other people and cultures.

The fee is:
310 Euro for participants from Finland
300 Euro for participants from other Nordic countries
260 Euro for participants from the rest of the world

How to get to Ethno Finland: Päivölän virkistyskoti, Address: Taivaantie 41, 03100 Nummela ( It is 45 km west from Helsinki center. Take a  train from Helsinki Airport to Helsinki Centre and get a bus from  Helsinki center. Timetables for bus: From Nummela center 2,4 km to Päivölä and the Ethno Finland staff can help you from Nummela centre to Päivölä.
